Cadaver Scandal

Irvine -- Subversity, a KUCI public affairs program, kicks off the Fall Quarter with a program on UCI's latest scandal, and a new time: now Fridays from 5-6 p.m. The show airs on KUCI, 88.9 FM in Orange County, and is Webcast on the Internet: kuci.org/~listen.html.

Among the guests discussing the cadaver scandal at UC Irvine is Liz Kowalczyk, the health reporter for the OC Register. Show host is Daniel C. Tsang.

Kowalcyzk also discovered that UCI alone among all UCs has not been following federal regulations requiring UC physicians to disclose to their patients the doctors' financial ties with drug firms for which the doctors are doing clinical trials, thus violating UC policy and federal law. A medical school committee has now urged Research Dean Fred Wan to implement such a policy.

Listeners can call in to chat with guests at (949) 824 5824 during the show, or send comments/questions to subversity@kuci.org.
