Indonesia and East Timor; Political Prisoner Release
Irvine -- Subversity, a public affairs program on KUCI, 88.9 FM in Orange
County, this evening interviews activists from the ETAN and ICANET, about
the situation in East Timor. The
show airs
this evening from 5-6 p.m. on KUCI, 88.9 FM, and is Web-cast at
kuci.org:8080.
The committee was established last year in Los Angeles. Joining us in
this discussion on Indonesia's treatment of ethnic minorities are Ben
Tarral from East Timor Action Network; and John Oei, of
Indonesian Chinese American Network, both speaking with us from San
Francisco. They
work closely with the East Timorese. They will be interviewed by Dan
Tsang, host of the program.
BREAKING NEWS
In addition to activists from human rights and
activist groups talking about East Timor (interviews now expected with
activists from ETAN, ICANET,
we will interview Diane Fujino and Matef Harmachis about their efforts to
offer political solidarity and friendship to Adolfo Matos, who was
released from Lompoc Federal Penitentiary last Friday, after 19 years
of incarceration. Both Fujino and Harmachis were profiled in a Los
Angeles Times story this past Saturday..
