More highlights from Pornography conference: Child Pornography Panel

Irvine -- Subversity, a KUCI, 88.9 FM public affairs program, this evening continues to bring listeners highlights from the recent World Pornography Conference. Subversity airs each Tuesday from 5-6 p.m. KUCI is now available live on the Web at: http://www.kuci.org:8080 (URL may change in future), so it is no longer restricted to listeners in Orange County. You would still need a sound card on your computer, plus a reasonably recent Web browser.

This evening Subversity airs a discussion on Child Pornography, featuring Joan Bertin, Director, National Coalition Against Censorship and Harris Mirkin, a professor at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Bertin speaks on the effects of current child pornography legislation on artistic freedom (incl. the ban on morphing of child images), and Mirkin discusses the moral panic over child sexuality.

The World Pornography Conference was held August 6-9, 1998 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, Calif., sponsored by the Free Speech Coalition and the Center for Sex Research at CSU Northridge: www.csun.edu/~sr2022.
