Assembly candidate on Subversity

Irvine -- Mike Matsuda, the Democratic candidate for the Assembly seat vacated by former Speaker Curt Pringle (R-Garden Grove), will be guest on this week's edition of Subversity, a KUCI-88.9 FM public affairs program. The show airs Tuesday, July 21, from 5-6 p.m.

Matsuda, a liberal Asian American, and a high school English teacher, was instrumental in the youth protests against Nike last year. He earned "Teacher of the Year" honors last year at Orangeview High in Anaheim, and this year, was named by the Anaheim chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars as VFW's Teacher of the Year. He is also a past advisor to the Vietnames American Coalition at UCI. UCLA recently named a student scholarship after him; he had graduated in English from there. His endorsements range from Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez's and various police chiefs' to the Gay Asian Pacific Support Network's.

Call (949) 824-KUCI to chat with Matsuda and discuss his campaign platform, during the show.
