Serve the People: highlights

Irvine -- Subversity, a public affairs program on KUCI, 88.9 FM, continues this evening to bring highlights from the recent "Serve the People!" conference of Asian American Community Activism at UCLA. This evening's program profiles talks by Yuri Kochiyama and Grace Lee Boggs. Subversity airs from 5-6 p.m. this evening (May 26, 1998) on KUCI, 88.9 FM.

Kochiyama, now working on political prisoners with Asians for Jericho, was the activist who cradled the head of Malcolm X when he was assassinated in Harlem. She is also featured in the video, Yuri Kochiyama: passion for justice. Grace Boggs is author of Living for Change, just out from University of Minnesota Press, and a long-time activist from Detroit in the Black community.
