Subject: Subversity interviews organizers of Rock-A-Mole Live and unity rally

Irvine -- KUCI's public affairs interview program, Subversity, focuses on
street art, music, and "gang" youth unity as the show presents a live
interview with Lee Ballinger and Dewayne Holmes, who are organizing two
events
in S. California to bring together street and "gang" youth. The show
airs Tuesday, March 19, from 5-6 p.m. on KUCI, 88.9 FM in Orange County.

Ballinger, an associate editor of "Rock and Rap Confidential", is
one of the organizers of "Rock-A-Mole Live! #2," an April 12 festival in
Los Angeles (at 7 p.m.) that will present live music (Ozomatli plus D.O.P.E.
Mob/Strokely/Ernie Perez), a street art show (art by homeless, inmates and
at-risk youth), and dynamic poetry from diverse voices from the streets.

Holmes, who organized the gang truce in Watts, is arranging an April 27
"unity rally" in at Will Rogers Park in Watts to bring together "gang"
youth in a demonstration of unity among youth of color. Both Ballinger
and Holmes hope to penetrate the Orange Curtain that separates people
here from our neighbors in Los Angeles.

Listeners can call the show at (714) 824-KUCI to chat with the guests.
