Militarism in Schools Countered: Subversity interviews CCCO Activist

Irvine -- This evening's edition of the public affairs program, "Subversity," on KUCI, 88.9 FM (5-6 p.m. today), returns to an interview format. Host Dan Tsang interviews Chris Lombardi, an organizer with CCCO (Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors), about the anti-war group's efforts to organize youth against militarism. Chris edits its newsletter, the Objector.

A CCCO team, including Lombardi, will be visiting Orange County Sunday to organize youth into a Student Committee Resisting Enlistment and Education. They will speak and pass out literature at the Junior State High School Issues Convention this Sunday morning at Red Lion Hotel, 3050 Bristol Rd., Costa Mesa; and on Sunday afternoon, stage a concert (Riot Grrrl bands and open mic) to launch the second issue of its new zine, AWOL #2: Youth for Peace and Revolution, at Koos Cafe, 505 N. Main Street, Santa Ana, from 4-6 p.m.
