Date: Tue, 16 Jul 1996 12:57:02 -0700 (PDT)

Irvine -- Fresh from the American Library Association Convention in New York City, KUCI's public affairs Subversity program is broadcasting the presentations of two of the panelists at a panel on "Watching the Right". The show airs this evening from 5-6 p.m. on KUCI, 88.9 FM in Orange County.

The panelists are Jeffrey A. Ross of the Anti-Defamation League (New York City) and Chip Berlet of Political Research Associates (now of Somerville, MA). Both speakers offer their analysis of the extreme right, and the role of libraries and librarians in providing information on the right.

The July 7 session was the only ALA event recorded by C-SPAN for broadcast on C-SPAN2, whose schedule is listed on the Web: http://www.c-span.org. The event was sponsored by the ALA Social Responsiblities Round Table's Alternatives in Print Task Force http://www.lib.lsu.edu/hum/aip.html.
