On Monday, 24 April, 2006, we chat with Justin Lo, the director of The Conrad Boys, a new film set in Orange County, depicting a loving biracial brother (Lo as Charlie Conrad) who not only takes care of a kid brother, but also falls in love with a guy. Most of the movie was filmed in Newport Beach.
Lo, who is Hapa (Chinese/Caucasian), directed, wrote and co-produced and acts in the film, was born in Palm Springs, California, and raised in Newport Beach, California. He comes from a theater background and has trained extensively at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, California, and Yale University. Ever the itinerant scholar, Mr. Lo has taken film classes at UCI (with Marie Cartier) and USC and is a graduate of UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. The Conrad Boys is his first film.
Our interview with Lo airs on Monday, 24 April, 2006 from 9-10 a.m. on KUCI, 88.9 fm in Orange County, and is Webcast simultaneously via kuci.org.
