Juvenile Justice Reform: Fighting Life Sentences

Irvine -- On our next show, KUCI's Subversity show delves into the issue of life imprisonment for juveniles and efforts to reform the juvenile justice system.

We chat with Mary Ellen Johnson, Executive Director of Colorado's Pendulum Foundation (www.pendulumfoundation.com), which is dedicated to sentencing reform for juveniles. The Pendulum Foundation has worked on legislation dealing with teens and children serving life without parole in adult prisons. The foundation is also dedicated to taking programs into the adult prisons for youth serving life terms.

The show airs from 9-10 am Pacific time on Monday, President's Day, February 20, 2006, on KUCI, 88.9 FM in Orange County and is webcast simulaneously via kuci.org.

Ms. Johnson and the Pendulum Foundation are cited in a front-page article on "Teen Crime, Adult Time," in today's (19 February 2006) Sunday edition of the Denver Post.
