In the wake of millions of protesters taking to the streets this past weekend, Subversity, a KUCI public affairs program, talks with Duke University Prof. Michael Hardt, the co-author (with Antonio Negri) of Empire (Harvard University Press), the definitive text on the post-modern world.
Joining us in the discussion will be local activist and UCI associate adjunct neurology prof. Stefano Sensi, who arranged the interview.
Hardt and Negri have been described as having penned an updated Communist Manifesto with their missive, Empire. Hardt also co-edited the Jameson Reader and Radical Thought in Italy, and wrote a study of Gilles Deleuze, among other works.
In the second half of the program, we chat with local labor activist John Earl about the union reform movement.
The show airs from 4-5 p.m. today (February 18,2003).
To listen to the show, tune in to KUCI, 88.9 fm in Orange County, or set your Web browser to kuci.org.
We plan to archive this edition online shortly.
