Hate crime survivor/UCI graduate speaks out

Irvine -- Not everyone will have a very happy holiday season. Hate crimes have proliferated since 9/11. Orange County is no exception. One of the more vicious occured on October 21, Sundeep, a UCI graduate was attacked with his family in Anaheim, at a Karaoke Club where he was celebrating his birthday. The South Asian physical therapist's jaw was shattered. His brother had his fingers damaged. The perpetrators are believed to be Asian. They victims were miindentified as "Middle Easterners" during the attack.

OCAPICA, the Orange County Asian Pacific Islander Alliance, has announced the offer of a $1,000 for capture of the perpetrators, believed to be Asian.
