OC Skinhead Capital? Another Shack Protest Sunday

Irvine -- What is the history of white power music shows in Orange County?

A white power web site calls Orange County "Skinhead capitol [sic] of the world", reviewing a show at the Shack in June that featured neo-nazi bands. And another white power music show appears slated for this Sunday, as opponents vow to stage a protest.

According to the Orange-based Radio White web site (www.nordland.net/vinland/radio/radiowhitewebpage.html), Max Resist, Youngland, Aggressive Force, and Final War will appear at "The Shack" in Anaheim on Sunday, September 2nd at 8 pm.

Protesters plan to gather there by 5 p.m. The Shack is at: 1160 N Kraemer Blvd, Anaheim

Another web site (www.resistance.com), that for Resistance Records, reviews a June 24, 2001 show at the Shack and offers color photos from the show. It headlined Brutal Attack with many of the same bands slated for next Sunday also playing. Tables were set up by Resistance Records, Panzerfaust Records, and Vinland Records. White power advocate Tom Metzger was reportedly in the audience and even participated in the moshing. Songs sung included: "Thank God I'm White" and "Race Land".

Another review featured a Hitler's birthday memorial show in Serbia.

Resistance Records is owned by William Pierce of the National Alliance. Pierce is author of the notorious Turner Diaries and other works that instil racial hatred.

On Subversity this afternoon, we chat with Michael Novick, of Anti Racist Action, which organized a protest at the Shack two Sundays ago.

The KUCI show airs from 5-6 p.m. on 88.9 fm in Orange County, Calif., and on the Web via kuci.org.

To chat with Novick, call (949) 824-5824 during the show.
