Jon Wiener on FBI files on John Lennon

Irvine -- A last-minute development has meant the KUCI Subversity interview scheduled with Lisa McGirr on her new book, Suburban Warriors, about the development in the 1960s of the American right in Orange County, will be postponed and will air on another date.

In its place, we air a talk by another historian, Jon Wiener, of UC Irvine, who last Friday spoke before the Librarians Association at the University of California, Irvine Chapter, on his battle with the FBI under the Freedom of Information Act over John Lennon's files. Prof. Wiener also hosts "Beneath the Surface," Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 5-6 p.m. on KPFK and serves as a longtime contributing editor at the Nation.

See www.lennonfbifiles.com for more on the John Lennon FBI files.

The show is scheduled for this afternoon at 4-5 p.m. on KUCI, airing on 88.9 fm in Orange County, Calif. It is simultaneously web-cast via kuci.org.

Next week, Subversity moves to a Friday slot airing from 5-6 p.m., as part of KUCI's summer season.

Thanks for listening!
