Film directors on Subversity

Irvine -- The next two editions of Subversity, a public affairs interview program, features interviews with two Asian directors.

On our May 15 program, we interview Timothy Bui, the director of Green Dragon, a dramatic feature about the first wave of Vietnamese refugees settling in America in April 1975. The film is the opening night feature at the Asian Pacific Film & Video Festival in Los Angeles on May 17. For my review of the film in this week's OC Weekly: http://www.ocweekly.com/ink/01/36/film-tsang.shtml

On our May 22 program, we interview Quentin Lee, co-director of Shopping for Fangs, and more recently, Drift (a gay film about relationships). Drift will be shown at the festival May 20. He is also the author of Dress Like a Boy. We chat about gay relationships.

Subversity airs from 4-5 p.m. on KUCI, 88.9 fm in Orange County, and is Web-cast at the same time on kuci.org.
