What Really Happened on May Day in Long Beach?

Irvine -- What really happened on May Day in Long Beach? Subversity, a KUCI public affairs program, Tuesday afternoon, May 8 from 4-5 p.m. features interviews with several anarchists who give eyewitness accounts of the arrests and subsequent incarceration of about 100 participants in an anarchist black bloc in Long Beach. The show airs on KUCI, 88.9 fm in Orange County and on the Web at kuci.org.

Anarchists who were rounded up say many were beaten, some so badly they required hospitalization. They decry what they view as the police assault on a peaceful protest, and the subsequent incarceration and excessive bail for some protesters.

The program airs during KUCI's annual fund drive. If you like the kind of alternative programming such as Subversity, please support your alternative voice for Orange County.

To pledge or to chat with our guests, please call (949) 824-5824 during the show.
