That's the view of William Blum, author of Rogue State: A Guide to the World's Only Superpower, out next month from Common Courage Press. It's a detailed look at what the U.S. does in its foreign policy.
Blum appears Tuesday evening (June 20) on KUCI's "Subversity" program, starting its summer programming at a new day and time. Returning to Tuesdays, it now will air from 4-5 p.m., and is Web-cast simultaneously at kuci.org/listen.html. He is interviewed by show host Dan Tsang.
Blum's previous book is Killing Hope: U.S. Military and CIA Interventions since World War II, also from Common Courage Press. Blum, an investigative journalist in Washington, D.C., is a former State Department employee who quit over the Vietnam War. He co-founded Washington Free Press, the first underground paper in the nation's capital. He writes for and helps put out CovertAction Quarterly.
