Activists in Local Races

Subversity, a public affairs interview program on KUCI, begins its fall season today on a new day and time. Subversity now broadcasts from 5-6 p.m. on Wednesdays on KUCI, 88.9 fm in Orange County, Calif., and is Web-cast simultaneously at

The show follows Alternative News, also hosted by the same host as Subversity, now at 4-5 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Alternative News continues to bring you critiques of mainstream media and alternative reportage, especially from Free Speech Radio News and National Radio Project.

On today's Subversity show, we chat with two local candidates in non-partisan races. Duane Roberts, a long-time Green Party activist, is running for Anaheim Union High School District. He is fighting what he views as a "witch-hunt" against immigrants and undocumented aliens by the current school board. Chris Prevatt, a Democrat, is running for Garden Grove City Council. He's active in fighting for increased healthcare.

To chat with the guests, call (949) 824-5824 during the show.
