Medical Marijuana advocate & libertarian

Irvine -- Steve Kubby is seeking the Libertarian Party vice presidential nomination at the party convention this weekend in Anaheim, while authorities in Placer County are seeking to prosecute him because of his medicinal use of marijuana.

Kubby will be interviewed on KUCI's Subversity program, broadcasting Tuesday, June 27, 2000 from 4-5 p.m. on KUCI, 88.9 fm in Orange County, and Web-cast on

Kubby, 53, who is testing the validity of the California voter-approved medicinal marijuana initiative (Prop. 215 in 1996), says marijuana is the only medicine he takes for his adrenal gland cancer, diagosed in him several decades ago. He helped raised the millions of dollars in support of the initiative.
