THE UNION LINE...added to the OC Music Awards lineup on April 4

Who will be joining the lineup at this year's OC Music Awards on Saturday, April 4??? The Union Line! After a night of bands battling it out and putting on a hell of show, The Union Line were named Best Live Band for the 2009 OC Music Awards. They will be performing this Saturday along with Mickey Avalon, Japanese Motors, Venus Infers, Cory Case, Suburban Legends and Humanlab. Now, watch the video below and fall in love.

I will be judging tonight's OCMA Live Showcase Finals. Show starts at 8:30 p.m. Hope to see you all there rooting for your favorite band. It's going to be lots of fun and after we PARTY! Bands performing are Venus Infers, The New Limb, The Jakes, The Union Line and The Living Suns...woooo hooooo!

Acoustic FREE showcase finals is Friday with Cory Case, Hong Kong Six, Yellow Red Sparks, Melanoid and AJ Degrasse at the Gypsy Den in Santa Ana...AND Saturday is the OCMA live showcase finals with Venus Infers, The Jakes, The New Limb, The Union Line and The Living Suns at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana. I'm judging and we will announce the winner of the best live and acoustic performances after each show. And when it's over....we're celebrating...a heck of a lot.

Musical guest Cory Case and an interview w/Luke Allen on PPM this Thursday!!

On Press Pass Music this Thursday, Luke Allen, owner of Gemnini Studios and the new president of the OC Music Awards, will talk about what to expect at this year's OCMAs on April 4 and what the awards have to offer our local music scene. Then Cory Case will stop by for a live acoustic performance and interview... he better bring his harmonica. : )

Should be a FUN show... as always.

As for shows this week, yes I've been under the weather but I'm starting to feel better. Wednesday night, I will be watching Parson Redheads and We Barbarians at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana, Friday night I will be judging the OCMA acoustic showcase finals at the Gypsy Den in Santa Ana and then back to the Yost on Saturday night to judge the OCMA live showcase finals.

Guess who is on PPM this Thursday?? MARC B.

On this week's show, reggae/surf singer-songwriter Marc B. will be stopping for a live acoustic performance and interview around 1 p.m. Marc is actually up for an OC Music Award - Best Surf!! Congrats to him! Remember the OCMAs are on April 4 at the Grove of Anaheim, so come out and show your support. Also, the acoustic finals for the best acoustic performance will be held at the Gypsy Den in Santa Ana on March 27 and the best live will be at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana on March 28.

And before Marc B. stops by, there will be a lot of yummy new music. : )

Now, I'm off to go celebrate the luck of the Irish and heading to my hangout The Auld Dubliner. Cheers to a great year of Orange County music!!

STACY CLARK performs and the OC MUSIC AWARDS nominees this Thursday

Stacy Clark will be joining us for an acoustic set and interview around 1 p.m. but before that I will talk with Tazy Phyllipz, an OC music mastermind and judge/academy member for this year's OCMAs, about the OCMA nominees. Should be a fantastic show.

The OCMA showcases are officially done and in the next two weeks we will will announce the finalists for the battle of the bands. Don't forget the awards are April 4 and there are already some AWESOME OC bands, signed and unsigned, who will be performing.

Also, next week, we'll have Marc B., surf/reggae singer-songwriter.

NOW, this is the video of the week. Entice wrote a song called "The Watchman" and the music video is the song playing with the movie trailer. The song fits pretty damn well. Hope you like it.

Go to downtown Santa Ana today... and more SHOWS

Today, go to the Grand Central Art Center for their 10 Anniversary celebration! At 4 p.m., check out bands Gantez Warrior, Oh The Spanish Moss, The New Limb and Will Crum.... then at 7 p.m. Peanut will perform. -- Free shows btw. ALSO, the Zero Film Festival is taking place at the Yost Theater, which is right next to the GCAC. The film fest will also have bands The Living Suns, The Growlers and others performing. AND the KUCI OC Music Awards compilation will be played inbetween sets. Heck yes!

After all that, go to the So Cal Rock fest at Sachi in Long Beach to see Entice, The Vessel Tongue and Sail Heezer. It's an all day event with like 50 bands.

END the night at Detroit Bar to see Delta Spirit ( OC natives) who will probably pack the house. Should be a great night.

Change of plans, Natalie from the band Kyle and Natalie is up for an audition tomorrow, so congrats to her but now we will need to reschedule their KUCI debut. No worries. Skee to the rescue. Singer/songwriter Skee will be on the show this Thursday. Yayyyy! Should be a good time.

Who's on Press Pass Music this Thursday????

This Thursday catch newbies to Orange County Kyle and Natalie play an acoustic set and talk for a bit. The band will go on around 1 p.m. BUT before that I will have a couple special guest co-hosts choose the playlist for PPM this week. We'll find out from local musicians what their favorite OC tunes are. Should be interesting.

AS for an update on the KUCI Night at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana on Thursday, April 23. The bands are finalized: The Living Suns, Castledoor, The Shys, Death To Anders and Moostache. These bands are from OC and LA. Right now, KUCI is working on flyers and marketing materials, and also acquiring sponsors.
