HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! -- This Sat. 5 a.m. -- Party with Press Pass Music

It's going to be a gorgeous Halloween weekend and the Press Pass Music show will still resume this Saturday. So tune in! I'm going to be celebrating all night long and then I'm going to straight into the studio to bring you some Halloweenish songs by Orange County musicians.

If you have any requests, hit me up on my email: ashleyeliot@yahoo.com or call the request line.

You all better dress up and have an AMAZING night. If you want to come party with me and my lady friends then call my cell 949.922.2588. As for a costume... I wanted to be a ghostbuster.... yet we're having some issues with that so we'll see what happens.

Love you the longest time,
Ash

Show # 4 -- Oct. 25, 2008

What happened during show # 4?????????? WELL, I started the show with a song from the NEW Venus Infers album (The Truth About Venus Infers), which is set to be released Nov. 6 -- Detroit Bar will be the place for their release party. Then we had some softer sounds with folksy undertones. After I played a few songs that reminded me of Halloween... hence the song titles. Later, it became way more upbeat, hopefully waking up all you listeners. Throughout the show I played the NEW Venus Infers album.

I hope you liked what you heard. If you have an questions or comments, feel free to email me at ashleyeliot@yahoo.com. Also, check out my myspace to actually hear more about the bands I play -- www.myspace.com/presspassmusic. And you can follow me on Twitter -- www.twitter.com/ashleyeliot

Now, I'm going to continue on the music hunt for local musicians.

Here is the playlist from this week and expect next week to be very interesting... since it will be the morning after Halloween. Have a good one and thanks for listening to Press Pass Music!

Ash

Show # 3 -- 10-18-08 -- I'm SO IMPRESSED

Well, show three was this morning. There is a lot to note: First off, I need to have a Monster or Rockstar or inject the caffeine right into my veins because I made a few boo boos this morning. BUT the music I played was still oh-so-HOT and I'm very impressed by our local musicians. I better hurry and play their music before they're discovered and KUCI won't let me play them anymore. Despite my lack of organization the show still rocked, well I hope. ; )

I played some grunge, folk, pop, punk and rockkkkkkkkkkkk! There were covers of 99 Red Balloons, Love Is A Battlefield and Steady As She Goes ( by Ugly Paint -- a band of eight 10-13 year olds.) .....there were talks of twittering ; ) .... there were DJs still in the studio who hung out with me.... it was a good time.

Here's the goods... the playlist. Support local independent music... live it... breath it....hear it.... share it.

You can download or stream the show at http://www.archive.org/details/PressPassMusic-10-18-08-Kuci88.9Fm.

Enjoy.

THIS IS WHAT GETS ME EXCITED.... the future musicians of OC

I just received a press release on this great event tomorrow night called Code Pink's Beat Breast Cancer Boot Camp at Kaleidoscope Courtyards Shopping Center in Mission Viejo. There is a band of 8 boys ranging from ages 10 to 13 who will be performing. Their name is Ugly Paint -- http://www.uglypaint.net/index.html.

This is what gets me excited... little boys of course... kidding. It's the future of not just Orange County music but music in general. These kids have already played the Coach House, the Laguna Niguel concerts in the park, street fairs and so on. Yes, all I've heard is a few cover songs of U2's "Vertigo" and The Raconteurs' "Steady As She Goes," but it's their initiative to pursue music and even use music to make the world a better place.

Last week, I sent out emails and posted bulletins about looking for a band/musician for the Friends of Lake Forest Animals benefit on Nov. 8. Who doesn't love animals? Who wouldn't want to use their music to better the community and world? I know, if I could really play the guitar, drums or sing ( I may own two guitars, a drum pad and mic, but we all know as much as I would like to be a musician, I'm meant to be the one who promotes good music rather than produce it) then I would use my music to help people, animals and this crazy mixed-up world. My response to finding a musician to play for pro bono has been minimal. I love how "management" decides where you play and how much you should charge... I love how it's a get out of jail free card.... I love that there are bands and musicians who are talented but use the talents to further their own selfish needs rather than for the good of our neighbors....

I just love that I may be promoting music that may be produced by shallowness.

My rant is over.... check out the Ugly Paint. Go to codepinkbootcamp.com for more information on the event.

Show #2 -- 10-11-08 -- I'm still here...

Well hello there listeners,

I completed my second show this morning.... wooooo hoooooooo! There were a lot of random goodies from local acts this show. I'm very pleased with all the talented musicians I have been finding here in Orange County. If you know of any bands that are local please let me know and I will try to play them next week.

This week's show I celebrated the Japanese Motors' new self-titled album. It came out last week so I played songs from the album throughtout the show. Also, this show I played old and new tracks by Venus Infers and found out that Trisha (previous lead singer of Venus Infers) has gone solo. Her new name is HoneyPie and her new music is quite great.

Thanks for listening you guys! Please email me if you want to talk music or if you have any comments: ashleyeliot@yahoo.com.

For homework, go to a local venue and check out the sights and sounds of your awesome Orange County musicians. They're working hard to get their music out into the world so the least you can do is listen. ; )

My playlist is below. Feel free to listen again to past shows on
